About Black Veil Brides
Black Veil Brides emerged from Los Angeles in 2006 as theatrical metalcore made for kids who wanted to wear eyeliner without apology. Led by vocalist Andy Biersack's operatic wails and the band's elaborate visual presentation, they built a fiercely loyal fanbase on the strength of their 2010 debut We Stitch These Wounds and its follow-up Set the World on Fire. Songs like Knives and Pens and Fallen Angels became anthems for the disaffected, mixing screamed verses with melody-driven choruses that actually stuck. Their appeal lies in the contrast: intricate guitar work meets pop sensibility, aggression tempered by genuine hooks. They're the kind of band that inspired a thousand people to dye their hair black and pick up a guitar, then stick with it. Over a decade and a half, they've remained consistent to that initial vision while adding layers of production and songwriting craft. They're not trying to reinvent metal or prove anything to critics. They just understood what their audience needed.
Biersack commands the stage with genuine theatrical presence. The crowd is younger, devoted, and completely uninhibited about screaming every word. Expect wall-to-wall energy, crowd participation that never drops, and a show structured for maximum emotional payoff rather than just technical display.

Black Veil Brides + Worcester
Black Veil Brides brought their theatrical darkness to DCU Center in April 2022, delivering a set that balanced fan favorites with deeper cuts. They opened with "The Phantom Tomorrow" and worked through a mix of their catalog, hitting the somber "Shadows Die" and the driving "Scarlet Cross" before closing out with "In the End." It was the kind of show that reminded you why their blend of gothic rock and pop-punk sensibility still hits hard—they know how to command a room and make every song feel like it matters.

Live Music in Worcester
Worcester's venue scene has always been scrappy and resilient, playing host to touring acts across the rock and metal spectrum. The city sits in that New England sweet spot where alternative and heavier rock still finds an audience—it's the kind of place where theatrical, guitar-driven acts like Black Veil Brides fit naturally into the regional touring circuit. DCU Center provides the infrastructure for mid-sized rock shows, making Worcester a regular stop for bands that need somewhere between a club and an arena.
Worcester road trip to see Black Veil Brides?
Stay in the Elm Hill neighborhood — it's got actual character with tree-lined streets and the best local dining concentration. Book a table at Elm Tavern for elevated comfort food, then spend an afternoon at the Worcester Art Museum, which has a surprisingly strong collection that rewards a couple hours. If you want something quieter before the show, The Hanover Theatre is worth checking even if you're not catching a play — the building itself is an ornate 1904 gem.
