About Three Days Grace
Three Days Grace formed in Toronto in the late 90s and hit their stride in the mid-2000s with a brand of radio-friendly alternative rock that connected with people in genuine pain. Their debut album was solid, but it was "One-X" that cemented them as a legitimate force — that's where "I Hate Everything About You" and "Animal I Have Become" came from, songs about self-destruction and rage that somehow made it onto mainstream rock radio without feeling compromised. They've been remarkably consistent over two decades, releasing albums every few years without chasing trends or trying to reinvent themselves dramatically. If you've ever heard an alternative rock song about depression, self-harm, or emotional damage on the radio between 2005 and 2015, there's a solid chance it was them or it was heavily influenced by them. Adam Gontier left and came back, Matt Walst took over vocals, but the formula held. They're proof that you don't need to be innovative to be effective.
Their shows are legitimately intense. The crowd gets loud, sing-alongs are massive, and there's a real cathartic energy — people are working through something, and Three Days Grace meets them there. They're efficient, professional, rarely bad.

Three Days Grace + Orlando
Three Days Grace rolled through Orlando in April 2023, hitting Amway Center with the kind of setlist that rewarded longtime listeners. They opened with the unexpected choice of 'Jump Around' before settling into the heavier material that built their reputation—'Animal I Have Become' and 'I Hate Everything About You' landed with the weight you'd expect. The deeper cuts, like 'The Mountain' and 'Painkiller', showed they weren't just cycling through the hits. Closing on 'Riot' felt deliberate, a song that captures the band's ability to channel angst into something anthemic. It was the kind of show where the band seemed interested in reminding Orlando who they actually are.

Live Music in Orlando
Orlando's rock landscape has always had room for the harder stuff—alternative rock and metal have maintained a solid presence in the city's venues. Three Days Grace fits into that lineage of bands that appeal to the post-grunge crowd, people who grew up with heavy alternative on rock radio. The Amway Center gigs tend to draw serious fans rather than casual listeners, which probably explains why the setlist leaned into album cuts alongside the obvious anthems. It's the kind of city where a band can test material alongside their biggest songs.
Orlando road trip to see Three Days Grace?
Stay in downtown Orlando's Church Street district or head to Winter Park, where brick-lined avenues and oak trees give the area actual character. Eat at The Courtesy, which does elevated Southern cooking without the pretense. Spend an afternoon at the Mennello Museum of American Art—small, genuinely interesting, and nothing like the theme-park scene. Take a drive through the Rollins College campus in Winter Park if you want to remember Florida had a slower side. Come back downtown for music, grab a drink at a proper bar instead of a nightclub, and let the evening unfold naturally.
