About Spin Doctors
Spin Doctors formed in the early 90s and became the kind of band that soundtracked a specific moment before mostly disappearing from the conversation. Two Princes was everywhere in 1991—that jangly, slightly smug guitar riff and the whole thing about choosing between two women became their permanent calling card. They made catchy pop-rock with funk influences, the kind of music that felt clever at the time. Little Miss Can't Be Wrong showed they could do the formula again. The band had decent chemistry and weren't trying to be heavy or pretentious, which was refreshing but also limited what they could do. They broke up, reunited, broke up again. Now they tour as a nostalgia act, which is fine. People know Two Princes and not much else, and that's probably the most honest thing about them.
Their shows are pretty straightforward. Crowd knows Two Princes and sings along hard. Energy is fun but not intense—people are there for a solid set of 90s pop-rock, not transcendence. Decent musicians, decent time. Nothing revelatory.

Spin Doctors + Miami
Spin Doctors rolled through Magic City Casino in February 2018, running through a tight nine-song set that hit the obvious marks but also dug into the catalog. They opened with 'What Time Is It?' and worked through the expected hits like 'Two Princes,' but the real moments came in the deeper cuts—'Traction Blues,' 'Jimmy Olsen's Blues,' and 'Lady Kerosene' showed they weren't just coasting on 90s nostalgia. Miami doesn't see these guys often, which probably explains why the room was ready for whatever they brought. The band plays these reunion tours like people who remember why they mattered in the first place.

Live Music in Miami
Miami's music DNA runs through hip-hop, Latin rhythms, and electronic production—worlds away from the alt-rock-meets-funk-meets-blues that Spin Doctors peddle. But the city's always had room for touring acts with staying power, especially ones whose fans are old enough to remember the 90s firsthand. The club circuit here knows how to treat a legacy band right, and venues like Magic City Casino understand that people still want to hear these songs live, even if radio moved on decades ago.
Miami road trip to see Spin Doctors?
Stay in Wynwood if you want walkable energy—the neighborhood's shifted from pure arts district into something with real restaurants and bars. Hit up Juvia for dinner: it's the kind of place that doesn't feel like it's trying too hard, with actual good food across Latin, Asian, and Peruvian influences. Spend the day at Vizcaya Museum before the show—the grounds are genuinely beautiful and give you that old Miami feeling without the tourist trap vibe. Then catch the show and actually enjoy the city instead of just passing through it.
