New Found Glory formed in Coral Springs, Florida in the late 90s and basically defined what pop punk sounded like for a generation. Their self-titled debut in 2000 and follow-up "From the Screen to Your Stereo" established them as the band that could write hooks sharp enough to stick in your head for years. "My Friends Over You" became their signature moment—a song about choosing your friends over a relationship that somehow resonated way beyond its simple premise. They've kept at it for over two decades, never chasing trends but not quite willing to disappear either. The band's been through lineup changes and label shifts, but they've maintained the core appeal: earnest, melodic rock that doesn't require you to be fifteen to appreciate, even if it definitely hits different when you are.

Shows are loud singalongs where everyone knows the words. Crowd's genuinely there for it, not just going through the motions. They play the hits without irony and the energy never really dips. People lose their minds in the best way possible.

Known for My Friends Over You, Head on Collision, Dressed to Kill, All the Same, This Disaster

New Found Glory rolled through The Palladium Outdoors in Worcester back in June 2022, running through a solid 16-song set that leaned into the deeper cuts. They opened with 'Understatement' and didn't shy away from the less obvious material—'Sonny' and 'The Great Houdini' got airtime alongside the classics like 'My Friends Over You' and 'Hit or Miss'. Closing with 'All Downhill From Here' gave the whole thing a full-circle feeling, like they were wrapping up a conversation they'd been having with Worcester all night.

Worcester's got a solid rock backbone—the city's supported everything from hardcore to indie rock for decades. Pop-punk's always had a home here, especially among the younger crowd. New Found Glory fits that lineage well: catchy, earnest, not trying too hard. They should find a receptive audience in a city that values bands that actually play their instruments and write songs people remember.

Stay in the Elm Hill neighborhood — it's got actual character with tree-lined streets and the best local dining concentration. Book a table at Elm Tavern for elevated comfort food, then spend an afternoon at the Worcester Art Museum, which has a surprisingly strong collection that rewards a couple hours. If you want something quieter before the show, The Hanover Theatre is worth checking even if you're not catching a play — the building itself is an ornate 1904 gem. The walk from Elm Hill to the venue area is doable and keeps you off the highway entirely.
