New Found Glory
MassMutual Center — Springfield, MA

New Found Glory formed in Coral Springs, Florida in the late 90s and basically defined what pop punk sounded like for a generation. Their self-titled debut in 2000 and follow-up "From the Screen to Your Stereo" established them as the band that could write hooks sharp enough to stick in your head for years. "My Friends Over You" became their signature moment—a song about choosing your friends over a relationship that somehow resonated way beyond its simple premise. They've kept at it for over two decades, never chasing trends but not quite willing to disappear either. The band's been through lineup changes and label shifts, but they've maintained the core appeal: earnest, melodic rock that doesn't require you to be fifteen to appreciate, even if it definitely hits different when you are.

Shows are loud singalongs where everyone knows the words. Crowd's genuinely there for it, not just going through the motions. They play the hits without irony and the energy never really dips. People lose their minds in the best way possible.

Known for My Friends Over You, Head on Collision, Dressed to Kill, All the Same, This Disaster

New Found Glory rolled through Webster Theater in November 2019 with the kind of setlist that rewards longtime fans. They mixed obvious crowd-pleasers like "My Friends Over You" with deeper cuts—"Forget My Name" and "Vicious Love" landed harder than expected, proof they're not just coasting on nostalgia. "King of Wishful Thinking" felt like a curveball, the kind of choice that suggests they actually think about these shows. Twenty-two songs in and they still had energy, closing out the night on a high note that left people actually satisfied they showed up.

Hartford's music scene has always been scrappy and unpretentious, which suits pop-punk just fine. The city's hosted plenty of touring bands in the post-grunge, post-emo era, and there's a solid contingent of folks who grew up on the Warped Tour circuit. New Found Glory sits right in that wheelhouse—straightforward hooks, earnest delivery, no irony required.

Stay in the West End neighborhood—it's got actual character and puts you near some decent restaurants. Head to Saluto for Italian that doesn't oversell itself, or The Sycamore for New American food done properly. Before the show, walk through Bushnell Park and check out the Elizabeth Park conservatory if the weather cooperates. After, grab a drink at Vaughan's Public House if you want to decompress somewhere that feels lived-in rather than designed. The Wadsworth Atheneum is worth an hour if you have time to kill during the day.
