About Five Finger Death Punch
Five Finger Death Punch formed in Las Vegas in 2005 and became one of the loudest metal bands of the 2010s. They built their audience on heavy groove riffs and Ivan Moody's vocals, which range from melodic singing to full-throttle screaming depending on the song. Wrong Side of Heaven became their biggest crossover moment, landing mainstream radio play in 2014. Their approach has always been about straightforward metal delivered with maximum volume—no prog complexity, no genre experimentation, just heavy riffs and lyrics about struggle, loss, and survival. Songs like Remember Everything and Wash It All Away showed they could write hooks as catchy as they are crushing. They've sold millions of albums worldwide and consistently pull enormous crowds, the kind of band that fills arenas with the kind of people who don't usually go to concerts.
Their shows are loud and aggressive in the most literal sense. Massive crowds, lots of metal horns in the air, mosh pits that swallow people whole. Moody commands the stage without much talking. You go to see riffs executed at maximum volume. It's relentless.

Five Finger Death Punch + Milwaukee
Five Finger Death Punch brought their particular brand of heavy metal to Fiserv Forum in July 2025, running through a setlist that felt like a retrospective of their catalog. They opened with "Welcome to the Circus" and moved through the expected hits, but it was the deeper cuts that landed hardest—"Sham Pain" and "IOU" gave the crowd moments to breathe between the heavier material, while "The House of the Rising Sun" proved they're not above a solid cover when it fits the mood. They closed with "The Bleeding," a choice that sent people out into the Milwaukee night on a deliberate note rather than a triumphant one.

Live Music in Milwaukee
Milwaukee's metal scene has always been scrappy and loyal, built on VFW halls and mid-sized venues rather than arena polish. The city's relationship with heavy music is unpretentious—it's about the riff, the show, and showing up. Five Finger Death Punch fits that ethos: straightforward, loud, no apologies. The local metal crowd doesn't require nuance; they want impact, and FFDP knows how to deliver that in a way that keeps people coming back.
Milwaukee road trip to see Five Finger Death Punch?
Stay in Whitefish Bay or the East Side — quieter, tree-lined neighborhoods with actual character. Dinner at Colectivo's sister restaurant Odd Duck for inventive local cooking, or hit up Uchi if you want something more refined. Spend your day at the Harley-Davidson Museum if you're into American icons, or walk through the Milwaukee Public Market for the best cross-section of local food producers. The lakefront is worth an afternoon, and if blues is the point of the trip, catch a set at Colectivo or one of the Walnut Street venues while you're in town.
