About Dashboard Confessional
Dashboard Confessional is basically what happened when emo stopped being ironic and started being genuinely sad about relationships. Chris Carrabba spent the early 2000s making introspective acoustic rock that somehow worked on both MTV and in the ears of people who actually cared about lyrics, turning songs like "Screaming Infidelities" and "Hands Down" into the soundtrack for whatever drama was happening in your life at 16. They proved you didn't need distortion or screaming to break hearts, just a guy, a guitar, and lyrics specific enough that you were pretty sure he wrote them about you.
Chris Carrabba plays basically the entire catalog at a pace that feels slower than the records, which turns the whole thing into something closer to a sing-along therapy session where some people are genuinely crying and the guy next to you is probably mouthing every word.

Dashboard Confessional + Los Angeles
Dashboard Confessional played the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 7, 2025, with an 11-song set that was lean and purposeful. The Best Deceptions opened, and the set moved through the Swiss Army Romance and Places You Have Come to Fear the Most eras with precision -- Southbound and Sinking, Saints and Sailors, Remember to Breathe, Turpentine Chaser. Stolen handled the singalong, and Again I Go Unnoticed earned its spot. Vindicated into Screaming Infidelities into Hands Down closed the night at the Greek, which is about as good a setting as exists for those songs.

Live Music in Los Angeles
Los Angeles has always been too big to have just one scene. While the city's indie rock infrastructure remains robust, the emo and pop-punk lineage that Dashboard Confessional represents never quite disappeared here. Venues from the Fonda to the Wiltern have hosted the genre's revival tours, and a new generation of artists working in emotional, guitar-driven pop has found audiences willing to lean into sentiment.
