About Big Boi
Big Boi is one half of OutKast, the Atlanta hip-hop duo that basically redefined southern rap in the 1990s. While André 3000 pursued the weirder, more experimental lane, Big Boi kept things grounded in funk and soul—producing some of the group's most infectious tracks. "The Way You Move" became a crossover hit that somehow made the club and the alternative radio work in tandem. Beyond OutKast, he's released solo albums that showcase his production skills and knack for finding the pocket in any beat. He's the kind of rapper who makes it look effortless, with a delivery that's conversational but precise. His work with Organized Noize shaped the sound of an entire region and generation.
Big Boi brings actual joy to the stage. Crowds lose it for the OutKast classics—everyone's rapping along to "Rosa Parks." He's energetic without being exhausting, and clearly enjoys being there. The band is tight.
Known for The Way You Move, Elevators (Me & You), ATLiens, Aquemini, Rosa Parks
Big Boi + Cincinnati
Big Boi played Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on July 30, 2022. A baseball stadium show in the middle of summer -- that's Big Boi in festival mode, bringing the OutKast catalog to a crowd that probably needed a cold beer and some "So Fresh, So Clean" in their lives. Cincinnati doesn't get a lot of major hip-hop acts at the ballpark, so this one counted.

Live Music in Cincinnati
Cincinnati's hip-hop scene has always had its own identity separate from the coasts, rooted in local radio culture and independent labels. Big Boi's production-heavy approach and tendency to collaborate with regional talent aligns with how Cincinnati producers think about beats and rhythm. The city respects artists who actually experiment rather than phone it in, which tracks with what he's been doing for decades.
Cincinnati road trip to see Big Boi?
Stay in Hyde Park, Cincinnati's most elegant neighborhood, with tree-lined streets and restored Victorian homes. Dinner at The Eagle—a fine dining spot that takes Southern cooking seriously—pairs well with Stapleton's sensibility. Spend your afternoon at the Cincinnati Art Museum or walking the grounds at Spring Grove Cemetery, one of America's most beautiful cemeteries. Both offer quiet reflection before heading to the show. If you have time, catch the view from Skyline Chili's main location; the city panorama is worth the detour, even if the food is divisive.
