About Beartooth

Beartooth is Caleb Shomo's metalcore project, built on the foundation of a dude who's genuinely angry and isn't interested in hiding it. What started as a solo recording venture in 2013 turned into a legitimate band that trades in heavy, aggressive metal with hooks catchy enough to stick around after the song ends. Disgusting and Aggressive weren't subtle album titles, and they weren't meant to be. Shomo writes about mental health, frustration, and the kind of raw emotional discharge that metalcore does better than most genres. The band's live presence is where they earn their reputation—it's controlled chaos, the kind of show where the pit is actually a feature, not a bug. They've built a loyal crowd of people who come for the heaviness but stay because there's actual songwriting beneath the distortion. Beartooth keeps hitting the road and keeps making records that sound like someone finally snapped.

Beartooth brought their raw intensity to T-Mobile Center in February 2026, running through a tight 11-song set that balanced their heavier material with some unexpected turns. They opened with 'Might Love Myself' and built momentum through 'Doubt Me' and the crushing 'Disease,' but what stuck was their willingness to dig deeper—'The Lines' and 'The Past Is Dead' showed a band interested in more than just the obvious hits. 'Riptide' closed things out, sending Kansas City home with that signature Beartooth heaviness still ringing in their ears.

Hit up Betty Rae's for upscale barbecue that actually justifies the hype, then walk it off exploring the galleries and vintage shops along Baltimore. Catch a show at the Truman or Liberty Hall depending on the size, but leave time to visit Union Station—it's legitimately one of the finest Beaux-Arts buildings in the country, and worth seeing even if you're just passing through. The Power and Light District is there if you want drinks after, but Midtown's got better bones.
