About B2k
B2K was the late-90s/early-2000s R&B boy band that actually had staying power beyond the usual manufactured run. Formed in 1998, the group—Omarion, Fizz, J-Boog, and Raz-B—hit their stride with their second album, which spawned "Bump, Bump, Bump," a track that became unavoidable for like three years straight. That song alone defined a specific moment in pop radio, but they weren't just a one-hit situation. They made solid R&B records with actual songs underneath the hits, toured relentlessly, and built a fanbase that actually stayed invested. Their catalog holds up better than you'd expect from a boy band product, partly because they could sing and partly because they caught a wave where throwback-leaning R&B actually dominated mainstream radio. They've reunited periodically since their initial breakup in 2004, which tells you something about how they're remembered.
Known for Bump, Bump, Bump, Girlfriend, Why I Love You, Uh Huh, Cradle 2 The Grave

Live Music in New Orleans
New Orleans has always been about rhythm and soul running deeper than most places, which is exactly what B2K traded in. The city's DNA is built on groove and swagger — from Bounce to second-line brass to the understated cool of its best R&B exports. B2K's polished choreography and radio-ready harmonies sit in an interesting space with New Orleans's raw, foundational approach to the same traditions. It'll be telling to see how the two energies meet.
New Orleans road trip to see B2k?
Stay in the Marigny neighborhood—closer to the actual music scene than the French Quarter, with better restaurants and genuine character. Dinner at Bacchanal Butcher on Dauphine Street for their house-made charcuterie and wine list. Spend an afternoon at the Preservation Hall Foundation or catch live jazz on Frenchmen Street, which will give you the musical context for understanding why New Orleans crowds demand what they do. Walk through the Backstreet Cultural Museum to see the real history of the city's brass bands and Mardi Gras culture.
