About 3OH!3
3OH!3 is the Denver electronic hip-hop duo of Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte. They broke through in 2008 with "Don't Trust Me," a bratty electropop track that became an unavoidable ringtone and MTV fixture. The song's dismissive charm—basically telling someone not to believe a word they say—captured something about the band's whole aesthetic. They followed up with "Starstrukk" featuring Katy Perry, which cemented their place in the late-2000s pop-rap conversation. Their songs blend kid-friendly party beats with deadpan lyrical attitude, skiing the line between sincere and ironic so carefully it's hard to tell which side they're actually on. They've never quite replicated those early peaks, but they've maintained a solid touring presence and cult following among people who grew up on their MySpace-era hits.
Their shows are basically sanctioned chaos. Crowds are there to lose it to the hits—hands up, phone flashlights out. The energy is college-party stupid in the best way. They seem genuinely into it too, not phoning it in.

3OH!3 + Hartford
3OH!3 hit Hartford with the kind of set that reminded you why they mattered in the first place. July 2018 at the XFINITY Theatre, they went deep into their catalog—"Chokechain" and "Richman" alongside the obvious "Don't Trust Me" closer. "Touchin on My" got the crowd moving, and "Colorado Sunrise" showed they could actually do something with restraint. Ten songs that felt like they actually wanted to be there, not just running through the hits.

Live Music in Hartford
Hartford's music scene doesn't have the reputation of Boston or New York, but it's picked up momentum in recent years with a mix of indie venues and larger theaters drawing national acts. The city's electronic and hip-hop communities have grown steadily, making it a natural stop for acts like 3OH!3 who blend both worlds. XFINITY Theatre bridges the gap between intimate clubs and arena shows, giving bands of 3OH!3's stature a proper platform without the stadium overhead.
Hartford road trip to see 3OH!3?
Stay in the West End neighborhood—it's got actual character and puts you near some decent restaurants. Head to Saluto for Italian that doesn't oversell itself, or The Sycamore for New American food done properly. Before the show, walk through Bushnell Park and check out the Elizabeth Park conservatory if the weather cooperates. After, grab a drink at Vaughan's Public House if you want to decompress somewhere that feels lived-in rather than designed. The Wadsworth Atheneum is worth an hour if you have time to kill during the day.
